How can this process help me?

Counselling is frequently referred to as a 'talking therapy' because talking about and exploring aspects of our lives in a safe and confidential environment with a counsellor who is non-judgemental, can be therapeutic.

Session length and frequency

Each session lasts for 50 minutes and as a general guide, sessions would usually take place once a week. The first session is an opportunity to ask questions and to explore the option of working together.

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is an essential element of my work and I keep both the contact details of my clients and the details of our work together entirely confidential.

What type of issues can be explored and resolved through counselling?

  • Anxiety and Stress
  • Anger management difficulties
  • Issues as a result of bereavement and loss
  • Low self esteem, low self confidence
  • Communication and relationship difficulties
  • Transition or emotional issues
  • Redundancy or employment concerns

This is not an exhaustive list so do call or email if you require support with other issues.

    What benefits can be expected?

Exploring difficult experiences can help gain an understanding of why we are the way we are and provide a new perspective for the future.

Sometimes it can be just the opportunity to talk freely, saying things in confidence to a counsellor (who has no agenda other than to help and support you)that you have never been able to say to close friends, partners or family, that can be beneficial.

    What do you need?
  • Short term (up to 6 sessions) or
  • Long term (open ended)

The length of our work together is dependant on what you feel you need and the issues you bring.
